
The Path to Be Free In Body and Mind
Alleviating pain in the body and mind can feel like an ongoing game of whack-a-mole. Physical tools can be so helpful in this process when releasing, aligning and re-training what has been weak. But if no somatic tools are used when there is an emotional component, then it's an incomplete solution. Mental and emotional rigidity requires mental and emotional fixes to bring resolution.
I know the benefits of using a variety of physical release and re-patterning techniques for pain (massage, stretching, corrective exercise, etc) and have been using them for years with clients. I also know, that if there's an underlying pattern dictated by negative emotion, it will cause that pain to resurface when life's challenges call on it. It's insidious, yet dominant when your current life experiences mimic the pattern.
The path to changing this has a simplicity to it....not easy, but simple. Challenging emotion is essentially resistance in physical form. Too much can cause a lot of pain manifestations. Finally freeing from it (or consistently upleveling your freedom), comes when you learn and are willing to be present with feeling in your body (somatic awareness) so it can slowly be diffused and let go of. And then consistently (daily) selecting and practicing the new patterns until they become as automatic as the old ways that give you pain.
When I interweave the physical and emotional in tandem. It's a whole new world for the people I guide. It brings freedom because you're choosing how you live rather than being confusingly pushed by the resistance you didn't even understand was there.
